It is hopeless to make a good nude skin with the Ut2003 models. Solution? Make a new model for just that purpose.

I agree, it is quite harder tos kin despite the new sizes and resolutions! But it's the very fact that the new moedls don't leave much room for change that makes the Half nude skins even more ridiculous!
ALso i still cant understand why most of the textures are now mirrored, so half of the torsos and legs and such you can only do one half, two sides of one person can't be different, so no text or anything, MOST annoying, also they included less textures per model than they did previously!
Even though you can do more detail they seemed to of made it generally more akward instead!

You wait till u see my new 'Mother' skin... i noticed that nobody had tried punching those ludicrous holes in the larger female model's armour and i reckoned that it just had to be done :o) for fun!... i do have to agree with you that a lot of the nude skins are very cheap, but as a skinner too, do u find that most of the new models are extremely limiting?... most of them only really leave room for colour changes in the armour, or removal of bits of it... the overly specific model's just don't offer much of a chance to do very much with them i find... i've found myself resorting to making 'effect' skins recently, cos it's the only way to really escape the same old (or new rather) look.

Well as i said below, nude skins are fine if you l;ike that kind of thing, i can't understand teh mentality myself but i don't complain about nude skins as such! What i said was the ridiculous ones where someone has merely cut holes in the armour in the relevant places and scibbled in the unmentionables!
I agree, nude skins are a challenge and as a skinner flesh is often present in my skins, due to me disliking robots too!Though i stray far from nudity skins i once! For UT1 found a decent nude skin with great flesh tones, i used it as a base for some other skins, ofcourse i had permissin fro the author!
But i say this, i've seen SO few nudeskins worthy of use or note and so many nudeskins worthy only of eye rolling that i made my below statement! I think it's fair! Don't do it or do it well for.... heh heh! Educational purposes!

i've made a fair few nude skins, and find it great fun and very challenging to get them looking good... it has to be the hardest kind of texture to achieve i think, cos skin tones are so subtle - i do find the ones where people just make the skin a pure single flesh colour a bit disappointing, but it's easy to spot them from the previews and not download... i just don't understand people complaining... if u don't like em, don't install em!?!... i personally *really* dislike the robot models in UT2003... i've only ever downloaded the Chrome one, cos the effect looked cool... but i'm not gonna start complaining about the robot skins, am i!?... even if i do dislike, and tend to avoid them. i wonder why the people who complain about the skins other people choose to create, don't actually go about creating something new and interesting themselves... rather than put people off from trying. if you tried, you'd find that making a skin nude, sexy, attractive, or appealing in any kind of a 'human' way is the toughest thing to achieve... that's why there are more 'bad' ones about, than there are bad skins of other kinds.

Where is the problem of a naked skin? Of course that nobody fight undresses in the REAL LIFE! But this is A GAME FOR COMPUTERS called "UNREAL" Tournament, then it's possible a naked warrior! ;-)
About the "waste of time", it's always easier TO SPEAK that TO WORK a lot of hours to make a new texture. To make new textures is to obtain more experience and this means to learn, to improve... and NOT to lose the time.
Boys, remember this: people discharge skins, models, maps and other things, people don't discharge comments! The comments are only personal opinions, the comments don't change a texture or a polygon! Very important: the comments allow the communication between people.
Did somebody say "depression"? Nobody is forced to discharge some skin/model if it doesn't like. Don't worry, be happy! :-) The Universe Unreal has excellent games and a great community! :-)
Best regards and write me if you want! :-)

Oh the joy of yet more half armoured nude skins!
Does no one realise that the models are entirely the wrong shape for nudiy nowadays!
And girls running around with ridiculous holes in their armour is almost depressing!

Nude skin?. The girl something of clothes has... but it is a good beginning, skinner. ;-)

Oh, and the Bender model rules. It's the first model I've seen with a custom Karma physics file.

2 Hawk of War - Wednesday, January 29th, 2003 - 3:45 pm
Agreed, I think they are stupid and look bad. If someone actually put time into one, and made it seem as though the skin isn't nude just to be nude, possibly I'd think about downloading it, otherwise no. Plus nude skins just plain look bad on normal models most of the time.

enough nude skins already... They are a big waste of time.
