1. Hi, tell us a little bit about you . Where are you from ? What are you doing ? (School , Work etc.) How old are you ?

My name is Maury "Moose" Mountain III, I have no idea where the name Moose came from, every one in the Mountain family calls me "Moose" or "Moosey," heh, i got nuthin but its cool :) I live in North western Ohio, in a small college town of Bowling Green. I go to school here, currently a Junior, going for a Computer Art and Animation Degree from the school of art. I have a shitty job that doesnt pay well maintaining the websites for BGSU at http://www.bgsu.edu/offices/sa Oh yeah, im 20, listen to heavy metal (N17, InFlames, Pantera (they are gods), machine head, etc etc etc etc) , enjoy art and music (i have played the violin since i was 3), and generally just being nice and chillin with people. having fun kicks ass. yeah.

2. When do you started skinning and for which game?

I started skinning last June (of 2000) when i was asked to join the Weapons Factory UT team as a skinner. I really wanted to start skinning, and when Col Kassad (of WFUT) emailed me it really got me going and ive been honing my skills ever since.
3. Do you remember your first skin ?

heh, yeah. it was called Dark Phathom, i dont think i ever released it or let anyone other than my friends see it.
4. Can you tell us, for which games you have made customskins?

Mainly Unreal Tournament, but i have been off and on doing some characters for Tribes 2, although that game will probably never come to Macintosh (im a Mac-Man). I have some Quake 3 Arena skins in the mix, but i am focusing on learning to code the damn shaders first (those things are a pain in the ass).
5. Which Skin's/Model's you have made for Unreal Tournament?

I´ve made Witchblade, (Moose's) Mettallian, the JD skin, all the characters in Weapons Factory UT, as well as some characters coming up in Unrealcraft.
6.What skin/model are you working on at the moment?

I am currently redoing some WFUT skins, as well as the ones i think need revision. I am also incorporating new a method for team colors in WFUT as well. I have been doing skins for the custom models in Unrealcraft.... hmm i made my own model, which i dont think will make it into a game, but it is my first Composite and ive been texturing that. I also have something planed for the Crash and Creech model in Q3A, but lol I think i have my hands full right now ;)
7. How much time do you spend on a great skin/model?

It depends really, if im on a roll, i may get like 50 percent of it done in one night. other times it takes me longer. Recently i have been taking a little more time with them, spending more time away from it for a day and then going back to it to see stuff i may have missed. Generally about 4 days... but i really cant say because it is different with each skin.
8. Do you want to say something to the community?

Hello. any single ladies out there? If you want to start skinnin, do it. Don´t sit back and say that "oh my stuff is gonna be crap," even if it is, you still have accomplished your goal of making the skin. your next step is to look at what you did on your first skin, take note of what is crap and make it good on your second skin. One of the best skills you can have to make you imporve in pretty much anything, is being able to notice things you dont like in your work, and that you want to change. The hard part comes in changing them, but each person does this differently. If you try it you will find out soon enough how you work and fixing mistakes will come naturally. oh, one more thing, be patient, things take time. even if the skin you are working on looks like total ass, keep working with it. stick with it, the more time you stick to it and work on it will show in the final product. damn, one more, i cannot do clan skins. sorry. ( i work, am in school, and have too much other stuff to do, sorry)
9. Can you imaging, making skins for other games like Unreal2 in the future?

Hell yeah. Every time i look at these screenshots for new games i think to my self, "damn dude, ill be doing that in the next 2-3 years." and i get more and more excited to enter the gaming industry. Honestly, i wouldnt mind leaving college now, but college is way too much fun. I can wait, i just think that in 2 more years, technology is going to be even more robust and cooler, and even more exciting to work with. im pumped! :)
10. Where can we see your work? (Webpage)

http://www.unreality.org/mooseskins*note* the art isnt uptodate yet... i just rented the digital camera from the school of art and im in the process of photographing all of my work. I have a lot of monoprints, drawings, and tons of other cool shit that i have to put up on my site, so check back there in a couple weeks or so.... i should be updated by then (hopefully)
