1. Hi, tell us a little bit about you . Where are you from ? What are you doing ? (School , Work etc.) How old are you ?
Okay, the name is Kadir "X1" Sheriff. I was born Oct. 22, 1982. I'm probably quite a bit different than most art oriented people. I have a West Indian background but I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and I'm still living there. Right now I'm in school just finishing up my last year and come Sept. 2001 I'll be going to The University of Toronto just to get a degree in Fine Art. In terms of what I'm into? I like art of any kind (obviously), comics, video games, playing just about any sport (except for hockey), drawing, painting, hip hop, r+b, reggae, dancehall, euro, freestyle, trans, and house.
Okay, I think I'm rambling. I'll stop.

2. When do you started skinning and for which game?
I started last May 2000. Thanks a lot to Lawgiver, as without his help I probably would have quit. I started skinning with UT simply because I thought it might be some fun to try.

3. Do you remember your first skin ?
Oh yeah, I remember it all right. It was called "The Shadow" and it sucked, but when I did it I thought is was pretty good. Thanks Law, I needed that 65 to show me the light.hehe. I think I might re-do it sometime even though it is pretty simple, but it probably won't be for UT.

4. Can you tell us, for which games you have made customskins?
Only UT so far. I'm starting to try out Q3 just to see the differences.

5. Which Skin's/Model's you have made for Unreal Tournament?
"The Shadow" (It sucks)
"Prototype Mettalian" (I personally like it, but the lack of good T/C's hurt it)
" X1 Bot" (Worked totally off a concept I did, peeps like it though)
"DsL" (I was just playing with filters)
"Unit 18" (Another concept attempt, came out better I think)

6.What skin/model are you working on at the moment?
Umm, currently I'm trying to put together a skin for the contest at Skindom. I'm also learning quite a bit about 3D modelling and animation. GIFs are taking up some of my time too. Drawing and painting are up there too. I gotta keep on working at the 2d skillz.

|
7. How much time do you spend on a great skin/model?
Well, it all depends on what you're trying to do. Time always adds quality (in my opinion), but it's pointless to work on a piece forever. When I started skinning my fist skin took close to 40 hours even though it was relatively horrid. My last skin took only 8h and wasn't too bad, so I would say I'm getting faster and better at the same time. I hope the trend continues.

8. Do you want to say something to the community?
If you think skinning or modelling might be some fun, try it. You may be dissapointed (as was I when I was it's reviews). It's all about learning from mistakes. In my opinion, I suck, but I want to get better. Seeing work that crushes mine actually drives me. Just find your inspiration.

9. Can you imaging, making skins for other games like Unreal2 in the future?
For sure. I wouldn't mind working for a game company actually. All of you companies out there looking for prospects, I may be your answer. Maybe not just yet, but I will very soon. As technology improves, game art will only get better too. I don't at all mind that, as I like a challenge.

10. Where can we see your work? (Webpage)
I don't have a site right now, but I'm seriously thinking about putting one together for experience. (It's also a good place to showcase what I can do)
